Materials:
Square
(make 18)
Round 1: Using black, make a magic ring, ch 3 (counts as 1st
st), 11 dc into ring. Join with a sl st to the top of ch 3. (12 sts)
Round 2: Ch 2
(does not count as a st), 2 dc in each st around. Join with a sl st to 1st
dc. (24 dc)
Round 3: Ch 2
(does not count as a st), repeat [dc in next st, 2 dc in next st]
around. Join with a sl st to the 1st dc. (36 dc)
Round 4: Join pink, ch 2 (does not count as a st), repeat
[dc in next 2 sts, 2 dc in next st] around. Join with a sl st to the 1st
dc. (48 dc)
Round 5: Ch 4 (counts as tr), tr and dc in same st, **dc in next
st, hdc in next 2 sts, sc in 4 sts, hdc in next 2 sts, dc in next st, [dc, 2 tr
in next st], ch 2, [2 tr, dc] in next st** Repeat from ** to ** around. Join
with dc in 4th ch.
Round 6: Ch 5 (counts as dc + ch 2), 2 dc in same space, dc in
each st (16 sts), [2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc] in corner ch-2 space. Repeat around, dc in
1st space. Join with a sl st to 3rd ch and fasten off.
Joining the squares
Sew the squares together by joining the outer loops of 2 squares together with their wrong sides out. Join 3 in a row and make 6 rows.
Fold
into half and sew the side seams with the wrong side out. After finishing bring
the right side out.
Edging
Row 1: Join pink in the ch-1 space at a corner, ch 3, dc
in each st (20 sts), dc in ch-1 corner space, dc in ch-1 corner space of the
next square, dc in 20 sts, dc in corner ch-1 space, repeat around and you’ll be
working 22 sts in each square, so you’ll have a total of 132 sts. Join with a
sl st to the 3rd ch.
Row 2 to 4: Join black and work dc in each st around.
Join and fasten off.
Finishing
Weave in all the loose ends and attach handles.
