Row 1: Ch 16, sc in 9th ch from hook and cut off yarn. I used a 24 mm bead but if you are using a button or bead of any other size adjust the size of the loop accordingly. Check with your bead/button to see if the loop can accommodate it without being too tight or too loose.
Row 2: Join yarn at the 1st ch and work sc in 8 ch up to the loop, 17 sc in the loop (more or less depending on the size of the loop if you had made changes to it), sc in rest of the 8 ch on the other side. Turn.
Row 3: Ch 1, sc in each st up to the centre of the loop at the bottom, work 2 sts at the centre, sc in rest of the sts.
Row 4: Ch 1, sl st in each st, sl st across the top of the flap. Join with a sl st to the 1st sc and cut off yarn.
Finishing
Sew the bead/button and the flap and weave in all the loose ends.
