This pattern is for a mobile phone bag / sling bag which is suitable for beginners as it uses only basic crochet stitches.

Materials:

Sport weight/category 2 yarn less than 50 gm

3.5 mm crochet hook

button

yarn needle

scissors

Size:

About 9.5 cm wide and 19 cm high

Gauge:

11 dc in 2 inches

Stitches/Abbreviations Used:

** - work instructions within asterisks as many times as instructed

ch/chs - chain/chains

st/sts - stitch/stitches

sl st - slip stitch

dc - double crochet

4-dc cluster - double crochet 4 sts worked together in the same st/space

Instruction

Round 1: Ch 17, sc in 2^nd ch from hook, sc in rest of chs except the last, 3 sc in last ch, sc in 14 ch on the other side, 2 sc in next ch. Join with a sl st to the 1^st sc (34 sc)

Round 2: Ch 3 (counts as 1^st dc), dc in same st, dc in next 14 sts, 2 dc in next 3 sts, dc in 14 sts, 2 dc in next 2 sts. Join with a sl st to the 1^st st. (40 dc)

Round 3: Ch 4 (counts as dc + ch 1), skip next st, **dc in next st, ch 1, skip next st** Repeat from ** to ** around. Join with a sl st to the 3^rd ch.

Round 4: Ch 3, dc in next dc, ch 1, 4-dc cluster in the post of precious dc, **dc in next 2 dc, ch 1, 4-dc cluster in the post of previous dc** Repeat from ** to ** around. Join with a sl st to the 1^st st.

Round 5: Ch 4, dc in ch-1 space above the next cluster, ch 1, **dc in next dc, ch 1, dc in ch-1 space above next cluster, ch 1** Repeat from ** to ** around. Join with a sl st to the 3^rd ch.

Round 6: Ch 3, dc in each ch-1 space and each st around. Join with a sl st to the 1^st st (40 sts).

Repeat rounds 3 to 6. Cut of yarn.

Sew a button to the front of the bag. Join yarn at the back right behind the button and make enough chs to go around the button, sl st in the same st and cut off yarn.
