I have a very pretty Christmas ornament pattern for you. It's quick to whip up and you can use your scrap yarns to make these easy ornaments.
Round 1: Using colour A, make a magic ring, ch 1, 12 sc into ring.
Join with a sl st to 1st sc.
Round 2: Ch 1, 2dc cluster in 1st st, repeat [ch 4, 2dc cluster in next st] around. Finish the round with ch 1 and dc in the top of 1st cluster.
Round 3: Ch 1, sc in same st, ch 4, repeat [sc in next ch-4 space, ch 4] around. Join with a sl st to 1st sc. Fasten off.
Round 2: Ch 3 (counts as 1st st), dc in same st, 2 dc in every st around. Join with a sl st to the 1st st. (24 sts)
Round 3:
Place the wrong side of the flower circle over the wrong side of the back circle. Insert hook into any ch-4 space of the flower circle and pull the loop of the back circle through it
Round 4: Ch 1, working through the ch-4 space work sc in 1st st of the back circle, 2 sc in the 2nd st and sc in the 3rd st. Repeat around working 4 sc through each ch-4 space into 3 sts of the back circle. You will have 48 sts. Join with a sl st to 1st sc.
Picot - ch 3, sl st in 1st ch
Round 5: Ch 1, sc in 1st st, [sc, picot, sc] in next st, **sc in next 3 sts, [sc, picot, sc] in next st** Repeat from ** to ** around, sc in last 2 sts. Join with a sl st to the 1st sc. Fasten off and weave in the loose ends.
Finishing
Make a tassel by wrapping yarn around a rectangular piece of cardboard and cut it at one end. Tie yarn around the center of the yarn and tie it. Trim the uneven edge. Insert a bead at the top of the tassel and attach it to the ornament. Make a loop at the top to hang the ornament.
