Small crochet bag

This is a cute purse/crochet mini bag to carry your phone, keys and other small items. Quick and easy to make one as a gift.

Size:

About 7.5 inches wide and 6.5 inches high not including the handles.

Materials Required:

Medium worsted weight/category 4 yarn approximately 110 to 115 meters

G/4 mm crochet hook

A large button

Measuring tape

4 stitch markers

Yarn needle

Stitches/Abbreviations Used:

[ ] - Repeat instructions within parenthesis as a set as many times as directed

ch - chain

st/sts - stitch/stitches

sl st - slip stitch

sc - single crochet

dc - double crochet

Instruction:

Round 1: Ch 24, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in rest of the chs across except the last, 3 sc in last ch, sc in next 21 ch on the other side, 2 sc in last st. Do not join. (48 sc)

Round 2: 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 21 sc, 2 sc in next 3 sc, sc in 21 sc, sc in next 2 sc. Do not join. (54 sc)

Round 3: sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 21 sc, [sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc] 3 times, sc in next 21 sc, [sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc] 2 times. Do not join. (60 sc)

Round 4: sc in each sc around. Join with a sl st to 1st sc(60 sc)

Round 5: Ch 3, 2 dc in same st, skip next 2 sts, repeat [3 dc in next st, skip next 2 sts] around. Join with a sl st to the 1st st.

Round 6 and 7: Ch 1, sc in each sc around. Join with a sl st to 1st sc (60 sc)

Round 8 to 19: Repeat rows 5 to 7 four more times.

Measure 2 inches from both the ends and place markers at both back and front sides.

Round 20: Ch 1, sc in each st up to the st where you had placed a marker, ch 18, sc in the st where you had placed the next marker, sc in each st up to the next marker, ch 18, sc in the st where you placed the next marker, sc in rest of the sts. Join with a sl st to the 1st sc.

Round 21: Ch 1, sc in each st and each ch around. Join and fasten off.

Sew a button to the front of the bag between the two ends of the handle. Join yarn to the back of the bag right behind the button and make chains long enough to go around the button and sl st in the next st forming a loop. Cut off yarn and weave in all the loose ends.
