Wonderful Weekend

I had an amazing weekend!

I had intended to share with you all the crochet that I had done during my vacation, but got busy with my son's school projects. I took along with me plenty of yarns but except for this potholder I didn't do anything for myself. I made a couple of small flower-like doilies for my neighbour, but unfortunately I didn't photograph them. Then I made a couple of stool covers for my grandma and my mom, and a round table topper for my grandma. I will show them all in another post. This potholder is sort of incomplete. I forgot to make the loop.
I worked out the pattern on my own, but forgot to write it down : (
 Do you see cupcakes above?
Here are the scrumptious vanilla cupcakes...
  Looks yummy, eh?
They tasted yummy too!

There was indeed an occasion to celebrate. My brother is back in India. He has moved back from UK and I am seeing him after almost 2 long years.

Besides plenty of other things see what bro got for me...
Cookie cutters in all imaginable shapes, and colorful too.

Silicone cupcake moulds.
Have any of you used these silicone moulds? Won't they melt in the oven?

I guess I should run a google search and find out.

And Chocolates, PLENTY of them!

But when I opened a packet you know what I found?

One gooey mess! The chocolates had all melted and clumped together.

But who cares?

Cupcake Wall Decor

Hey, how are things in your part of the world? Nothing much going on here. It's been a while since my last post, isn't it? I think I am developing a serious case of writer's block, or rather, blogger's block. I really didn't know what to blog about. I haven't made anything interesting to share with you and I didn't have internet for a few days which, surprisingly, did not drive me that crazy as it usually does. I think I am losing my mojo for blogging.

Anyway, here is something that is interesting enough to share with you all. I think it's really cute. Don't you?

I am absolutely delighted with this and planning to make more similar ones. You can find the pattern in my shops. I will come back when I have made another one. Meanwhile, thanks everyone for your lovely comments for my previous post and thanks a lot for visiting me even though nowadays I am turning into a bad blogger. I will try to be good :))

Potholder

Hi everyone! How are things in your part of the world? Nothing interesting here. Life goes on. The potholder shown above is from my Etsy shop. Maddie who purchased this pattern from me shared pictures of her finished item with me. She has made plenty of them in different colors and they are all just amazing and makes me feel so proud :)

With her permission, here are some of the photos of her finished items. Aren't they wonderful?

You can find more details about it on her Ravelry page here. Thanks for sharing, Maddie.

If any of you have made anything using my pattern I would LOVE to see them and would be happy if you share them with me.

Also, I have opened a shop in Ravelry. I have been a member for some time now but I didn't understand Ravelry (even now I don't), so I didn't do anything further after joining and just forgot about it.  Only yesterday I uploaded some patterns after great difficulty figuring out how to go about it. You can check it out here. I hope to become more familiar with Ravelry soon.

Thanks for all your comments and thanks for being my friends.

Hexagon potholder

Potholders - something which I truely enjoy making but don't have any real use for. I don't use them to hold pots (no way!) and I haven't hung them on the wall either. The three potholders I have done so far are just lying about in my crochet basket along with the yarns but still I am looking for more and more patterns to make. May be when I have completed a few of them I would consider hanging them in an appropriate place. Until then I plan to make more and more.

I developed the springtime hexagon pattern to make this potholder. For the back I made a simple hexagon and sewed the edges of both the pieces together and for the edging I made 3 chains and slip stitched them in alternate stitches.

I hope to do more and hope to share more. Until then...bye!

Vintage Rose Potholder

Potholders are always fun to make. They are quick and easy.  They are so endearing that you always want to make more and more.

I have a long list of potholders to make in my agenda but somehow I always end up making pillow covers. This is one which I did at the spur of the moment.

This one was done some time back but it just slipped my mind to post. You can find the pattern for this vintage rose potholder here.

I thought I might as well share with you some beautiful rose photographs

Have a nice weekend.

Strawberry potholder

I had been wanting to do these ornamental potholders for a long time. So I started out with a vintage strawberry potholder pattern but I am not sure if I followed the pattern correctly because the strawberry turned out too small. It was more like an applique strawberry rather than a potholder. So I made a square with double crochet stitches and sewed the strawberry onto it.

I forgot to make a stalk for the strawberry. It would have made the strawberry look even better. I got the pattern for the strawberry from here.

Have a nice weekend.
