Betsy hat and a peek into my next free pattern

Betsy is my latest hat pattern. I have written the pattern for adult size. It is worked using a heavier worsted weight yarn and size J/6.00 mm hook. The pattern can be purchased from my Etsy, Craftsy and Ravelry shops.

Now moving on to other stuff, I have a free pattern for you which I will hopefully publish in my next post. But before you can get a glimpse of that I want to show you some pictures of flowers and tomatoes from my terrace garden (not actually a garden, we just have a few potted plants)

This is going to be my next free pattern...

Tapestry pillow cover - completed

I successfully completed the tapestry pillow cover that was started last October to use up some of the yarns that I won't be using for anything else. I can't believe it took me only 3 months, I thought I started it ages ago. I used this chart from pinterest. Now I'm on the lookout for another pattern for my next tapestry project.

I'm working on the edging of a baby blanket that I had abandoned for other projects. Hopefully this will be ready next week.

Mustard flowers from my balcony. Growing mustard plants in pots is my son's idea of gardening right from the time he was a small kid.

Have a lovely week!

Autumn scarf and some sketches...

A new scarf pattern is now available in my shops. This is an easy pattern and I have added an interesting element to it in the form of leaf tassels and swirls in autumn colors. The pattern will be available in my Etsy, Ravelry and Craftsy stores.

I have been sketching a lot (I should say learning to sketch) recently. I handmade some sketch pads in different sizes. I use color pencils but I would love to learn water color.

My favourite is this tiny handmade notebook.

Withered or not, a rose is always beautiful!

My next post will be the Christmas tree pattern. Have an exciting week!

Colour burst crochet table topper

This post is long overdue, very long. I finished this table topper a day before Christmas. I started it on a whim. I didn't have any need for a new table topper but I wanted something for myself and I wanted it to be very colourful.
I didn't have any particular pattern in mind. I just picked up some random colours and went ahead crocheting round after round and stopped when I got bored. Now, I don't know if I should call it an incomplete project because it is not big enough for my round coffee table and I am not interested in adding any more rounds.

I may add a few more rounds in white or any other single color but it is definitely not going to happen any time soon.

Beautiful roses, aren't they?
Last week was a special one for me with my wedding anniversary and birthday just a couple of days apart. Hubby gifted me something which I had been wishing for for quite some time.

A sewing machine!
I have never used a sewing machine before and I am looking forward to learning some basic sewing projects.

Taking a break...

... from blogging. Yes, I am. It is rather unexpected. My kid's school has closed for summer and we were planning to visit our parents, but not until the beginning of June. We had booked tickets for 2nd of June, but since my mom hasn't been keeping too well there has been a change in the plan and I am leaving tomorrow. My husband and son will be leaving on the 2nd as per plan.

My husband will have to take our kid along with him to his office for the next few days and the kid is so excited about this and earlier he didn't seem to bother about me leaving tomorrow but now he keeps asking why I had to leave him and go, that he would miss me a lot and even he wants to see grandma. Poor kid. I feel so bad.

My dad has gone to visit my brother and he won't be home for another couple of weeks during which time I will not have access to internet.

By the way, this is a new pattern. I love it. It is so bright and cheerful. I have not listed the pattern in my Etsy shop because the shop will be on vacation mode from tomorrow, but it will be available for instant download in my Craftsy store.

Also, as I mentioned in my earlier post I have launched my facebook page and there is the button at the sidebar. So please "like me" on my facebook page :)

Thanks everyone for your comments. I may not be able to visit your blog now but definitely I will try to do it later.

Have a great month ahead. I will be back soon.

Striped Owl Purse

After seeing so many crocheted owl stuff in the Internet I too wanted to make one. Initially I thought I would make an owl beanie, but there are too many of them and most of them look similar. I wanted something different. The next thing that came into my mind was a bag. I wanted it to be striped but was unsure of the colors. I felt bright and gaudy colors would be more appropriate.

Now, don't ask me what happened to the wall decors that I was talking about in my previous post. I started one, it is almost over.  Now that I have got this out of my mind I would be able to concentrate on that. Hopefully, I should be able to finish it within a day or two.

The pattern for this bag is available in my shops.

Couple of flower photos before finishing.

Vintage Rose Potholder

Potholders are always fun to make. They are quick and easy.  They are so endearing that you always want to make more and more.

I have a long list of potholders to make in my agenda but somehow I always end up making pillow covers. This is one which I did at the spur of the moment.

This one was done some time back but it just slipped my mind to post. You can find the pattern for this vintage rose potholder here.

I thought I might as well share with you some beautiful rose photographs

Have a nice weekend.

Just Fotos #1

Lately after starting this blog I have developed a passion towards photography. Initially it was limited only to the stuff relating to my blog but this vacation I just went crazy with my camera. I took lots and lots of pictures and would like to share some of them with you. So I am starting this new category "Just Fotos" to share these lovely photographs with you.

The photos that you see here were taken in Ooty.
