This gorgeous shawl is beginner friendly and easy to create. Make it using cotton yarn and it would be a lovely summer accessory.

Skill Level:Instruction
Row 1: Ch 80, sc in the 2nd
ch from hook and in rest of the chs across. Turn. (79 sts)
Row 2: Ch 4 (counts as dc
+ ch 1), skip next st, dc in next st, **ch 1, skip next st, dc in next st**
Repeat from ** to ** across. Turn.
Row 3: Ch 1, sc in each st
and in each ch-1 space across. Turn. (79 sts)
Row 4 to 7: Repeat rows 2 and 3
two more times. Turn.
Row 8: Ch 1, sc in each st
across. Turn. (79 sts)
Row 9: Ch 3 (counts as
1st st), dc in next 3 sts, **ch 3, skip 2 sts, sc in next st, ch
7, skip 5 sts, sc in next st, ch 3, skip 2 sts, dc in next 4 sts** Repeat from
** to ** across. Turn.
Row 10: Ch 3 (counts as
1st st), dc in next 3 sts, **ch 7, sc in ch-7 space, ch 7, dc in
next 4 dc** Repeat from ** to ** across. Turn.
Row 11: Ch 3, dc in next 3
sts, **ch 3, sc in ch-7 space, ch 7, sc in next ch-7 space, ch 3, dc in next 4
dc** Repeat from ** to ** across. Turn.
Repeat rows 10 and 11 until approximately 2.5 inches less than your desired length finishing with row 11 repeat.
Next row: Ch 1, sc in 4 dc, **2 sc in ch-3 space, sc in sc, 5 sc in next ch-7 space, sc in sc, 2 sc in ch-3 space, sc in next 4 dc** Repeat from ** to ** across.
Repeat rows 1 to 7 in reverse for the border. Cut off yarn and weave in the loose ends.
Blocking
The shawl
needs blocking. For blocking, wet the shawl (should not be dripping wet) and
stretch it out as much as possible from the center and pin the edges to a
blocking board, carpet, mattress or any other surface which can hold pins. Wait
until the shawl is completely dry before you remove the pins
