Crochet stitch pattern

Hi, how are you all? I have an interesting stitch pattern for you. It's my current favourite and I'm itching to create something using it but since my hands are full right now I'll have to shelve it. So I hope  you make something out of it and I would love to see what it is.

Use any yarn and a suitable hook. For the sample pattern shown here I used light worsted weight/DK weight yarn and a G/4 mm crochet hook. You will need 2 colors for working this stitch. It looks gorgeous if you use a variegated yarn as the main color.

Let's begin!

YOU CAN WATCH THE VIDEO HERE

Using the main color (A), make chains in multiples of 6 + 4

Row 1: Skip 3 ch, 2 dc in the 4th ch (called half shell) (the skipped 3 ch will count as the 1st st), skip 2 ch, sc in next ch, skip 2 ch, **5 dc in next ch (called shell), skip 2 ch, sc in next ch, skip 2 ch** Repeat from ** to ** across, 3 dc in the last ch (half shell). Pull the complementing color (B) through the loop and tighten it. Cut off color A.

Row 2: Using color B, ch 1, sc in same st, ch 1, dc in the 1st dc of next shell, ch 1, dc in the last dc of the previous half shell, ch 1, **sc in the 3rd dc of next shell, ch 1, dc in the 1st dc of next shell (forms X), ch 1, dc in the last dc of previous shell, ch 1** Repeat from ** to ** across, sc in the last st. Join color A and turn.

Row 3: Using color A, ch 1, sc in sc, **shell in the ch-1 space of X, sc in next sc** Repeat from ** to ** across. Join color B. Turn.

Row 4: Using color B, ch 3 (counts as dc), dc in same st, ch 1, sc in the 3rd dc of next shell, ch 1, **dc in the 1st dc of next shell, ch 1, dc in the last dc of previous shell, ch 1, sc in the 3rd dc of next shell, ch 1** Repeat from ** to ** across, 2 dc in last st. Join color A and turn.

Row 5: Using color A, ch 3, 2 dc in same st, sc in next sc, **shell in the ch-1 space of next X, sc in next sc** Repeat from ** to ** across, 3 dc in last st. Join color B and turn.

Row 6: Using color B,  ch 1, sc in same st, **ch 1, dc in the space after sc one row below, ch 1, dc in the space before sc one row below, ch 1, sc in the 3rd dc of next shell**  Repeat from ** to ** across finishing with sc in the last st.

Repeat rows 3 to 6.
