This pretty scarf is a delicate light weight scarf crocheted using sport weight yarn. Because of the open work it is so airy and you'll hardly feel it around your neck.
Materials Required:
Sport weight/2/fine yarn approximately 400-450 yards
Crochet hook size 3.5 mm
Yarn needle
Size:
The width of the scarf is 10.5 inches and length is adjustable.
The width of the scarf can be increased by adding chains in multiples of 6 to the initial chains.
Abbreviations/Stitches Used:
** - Repeat instructions within asterisks as many times as directed
[ ] - Repeat instructions within parenthesis as a set as many times as directed
ch - chain
st/sts - stitch/stitches
sc - single crochet
dc - double crochet
Instruction
Row 1: Ch 65,
dc in the 7th ch from hook, ch 2, dc in same ch, skip next ch, [dc,
ch 5, dc] in next ch, **skip 3 ch, [dc, ch 2, dc] in next ch, skip 1 ch, [dc,
ch 5, dc] in next ch** Repeat from ** to ** across, skip 1 ch, dc in last ch.
Turn.
Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as
a st), [dc,
ch 5, dc] in ch-5 space, repeat [dc, ch 2, dc, ch 5, dc] in each ch-5 space
across, [dc, ch 2, dc] in last st. Turn.
Row 3: Ch 3, repeat
[dc, ch 2, dc, ch 5, dc] in each ch-5 space across, dc in last st. Turn.
Repeat rows 2 and 3 until you reach the desired length.
Final row: Ch 1, sc in same
st, repeat
[ch 5, sc in next ch-5 space] across. Cut off yarn and weave in the ends.

I'm loving this! The great thing is you don't have to count chains to see which ch to DC into... just go right into the ch5 spaces. It reminds me of neuron connections and I'm calling it the Brain Power scarf!
