Stitches/Abbreviations Used:
** - Repeat instructions within asterisks as many times as needed
[ ] - Work instructions within parenthesis as a set as many times as directed
ch - chain
st/sts - stitch/stitches
sl st - slip stitch
sc - single crochet
dc - double crochet
Gauge:
12 sc = approximately 2 inches
Note:
The pattern is written in standard American terms
Ch 3 at the beginning of a round will always count as the 1st st
You can change the width of the pouch just by increasing the initial chains in multiples of 2
Instruction
Round 1: Ch
16, sc in the 2nd ch from hook, sc in rest of the chains until the
ch before the last, 3 sc in last ch, sc in 13 ch on the other side, 2 sc in
next space. do not join. (32 sts)
Round 2: Repeat [sc in next
st, skip next st, 3 dc in next st, skip next st] around. Join with a sl st to the
1st sc.
Round 3: Ch 3 (counts as
dc) 2 dc in same st, sc in 2nd dc of next 3 dc, repeat [3 dc in
next sc, sc in the 2nd dc of next 3 dc] around. Join with a sl st to
the 3rd ch.
Round 4: Sl st in next dc,
ch 1, sc in same st, 3 dc in next sc, repeat [sc in the 2nd dc of
next 3 dc, 3 dc in next st] around. Join with a sl st to the 1st sc.
Ch 1, sc in each st
around. Join.
Repeat 2 more rounds
of sc.
Sew a button to the
front. Find the 2 middle sts at the back, join yarn in the 1st st, make
required number of chains to fit snugly around the button. Join with a sl st to
the next st at the back and cut off yarn. Weave in all the loose ends.
