Crochet pullover - free pattern

Hey everybody, I'm here after a long time with a free pattern for you. It's a pullover that's named Nora. Nora is written in 3 sizes - small, medium and large. The pattern is pretty easy and if you are a newbie who wants to try their hand on crocheting a garment this might the right pattern for you provided you are familiar with the basic crochet stitches along with working around posts (fpdc and bpdc stitches). These stitches are used only for neck ribbing.

The pattern is also available in a PDF format which could be purchased for a small amount from here.

Now to the pattern

Assembling

With the wrong side out sew the shoulder joints together. Using stitch makers secure the center of the sleeve cap to the shoulder joint and both the edges of the sleeve caps to the armhole parts of the pullover as shown in the image. Starting from one edge of the armhole sew the two pieces together along the sleeve cap until the other edge.

Similarly sew the other sleeve. Then sew the sleeve edges together starting at the bottom and moving up to the armhole, then moving down along the edge of the body. Repeat for the other side. Weave in all the loose ends. Pull the right side out.

Neck edging

Round 1: Join yarn anywhere in the neck, ch 3 and sc around the neck edge spacing them evenly.

Round 2: Sl st in the 1st ch-3 space, ch 3 (counts as dc), 2 dc in same space, work 3 dc in each ch-3 space around. Join with a sl st to the 1st st.
Round 3: Ch 3, repeat [fpdc in next st, bpdc in next st] around. Join with a sl st to the 1st st.
Round 4 to 6: Ch 3, repeat [fpdc in fpdc, bpdc in bpdc] around. Join with a sl st to the 1st st.

Weave in all the loose ends. I hope you enjoy the pattern.

  3. If I needed an XL, is the best bet a larger hook? I’d rather keep the daintiness but can I also just increase one increment from the large? Like if small is 8, medium js 9, large is 10 use 11 for XL?

  4. What would you recommend for an XL, so add the same increment between the 3 sizes above onto a large?

    1. Instead of using a larger hook you can increase the number of chains at the beginning. The chains are increased in multiples of 8, so you can make 114 chains for the XL size. Remember to increase everywhere as required
