Thank you very much for your comments on my knit scarf. So it seems that I cannot do anything about the edges now. The yarn that is leftover will not be enough to give the scarf a crochet edging and even if I make an edging I don't think it'll help straightening it out. Anyway it looks good the way it is and so it's going to stay as it is.
Now for this doily I used sport weight yarns in fuchsia, green and aqua and size E/3.5 mm crochet hook and it measures 9.5 inches in diameter.
Abbreviations used
ch - chainst/sts - stitch/stitches
sc - single crochet (UK - double crochet)
dc - double crochet (UK - treble)
cluster - double crochet 2 sts worked together in same space/stitch
dc2tog/dc3tog - double crochet worked together in 2/3 consecutive stitches (dc decrease)

Instruction
Using fuchsia, ch 6, join the last ch with a sl st to the 1st ch to form a ring.Round 1: Ch 3 (counts as 1st dc), 11 dc into ring. Join the last st with a sl st to the 1st st (12 sts)
Round 2: Ch 5 (counts as dc + ch 2), ** dc in next dc, ch 2** Repeat from ** to ** around. Join.
Round 3: Ch 3, dc in same st, ch 1, dc in next ch-2 space, ch 1, **2 dc in next st, (ch 1, dc, ch 1) in next ch-2 space** Repeat from ** to ** around. Join.
Round 4: Ch 3, 2 dc in next st, ch 1, dc in next dc, ch 1, **dc in next st, 2 dc in next st, ch 1, dc in next dc, ch 1** Repeat from ** to ** around. Join.
Round 5: Ch 3, dc in next st, 2 dc in next st, ch 1, dc in next dc, ch 1, **dc in next 2 sts, 2 dc in next st, ch 1, dc in next dc, ch 1** Repeat from ** to ** around. Join.
Round 6: Ch 3, dc in next 2 sts, 2 dc in next st, ch 1, dc in next dc, ch 1, **dc in next 3 sts, 2 dc in next st, ch 1, dc in next dc, ch 1** Repeat from ** to ** around. Join.
Round 7: Ch 3, dc in next 3 sts, 2 dc in next st, ch 2, dc in next dc, ch 2, **dc in next 4 sts, 2 dc in next st, ch 2, dc in next dc, ch 2** Repeat from ** to ** around. Join.
Round 8: Ch 2, dc in next st (counts as dc2tog), dc2tog twice, ch 4, dc in next dc, ch 4, **dc2tog thrice, ch 4, dc in next dc, ch 4** Repeat from ** to ** around. Join with a sl st to 1st dc2tog.
Round 9: Ch 2, dc2tog (counts as dc3tog), ch 4, dc in next ch-4 space, ch 4, dc in next ch-4 space, ch 4, **dc3tog, [ch 4, dc in next ch-4 space] twice, ch 4** Repeat from ** to ** around. Join with a sl st to 1st dc3tog.
Round 10: Join green in same st, ch 2, dc, ch 3, 2-dc cluster in same st, **[2-dc cluster, ch 3, 2-dc cluster] in next dc, [2-dc cluster, ch 3, 2-dc cluster] in next dc, [2-dc cluster, ch 3, 2-dc cluster] in next dc3tog** Repeat from ** to ** around. Join with a sl st to 1st 2-dc cluster.
Round 11: Join blue in next ch-3 space, [2 dc, ch 3, sc in dc, 2 dc, ch 1] in each ch-3 space around. Join, fasten off and weave in all the loose ends.
