Last time when I visit my local yarn store I found this thick and thin yarn. I had never seen this yarn before in Delhi, so I bought two hanks of the only color that he had. I wanted to try knitting with this yarn, After knitting and frogging for about 7 or 8 times I finally managed to get into the groove. I'm not sure what I am going to make. I was planning to make a scarf but I don't think two hanks are going to be enough and I don't know if I'll be able to find more of this yarn in the yarn store. So for now I'll continue to knit until I run out of yarn, then I'll think about what to do with it.
Have you ever worked with thick and thin yarn? Do you enjoy working with it?
It's lovely! It never seems to surprise me how yarns like this look wonderful when knitted and would look horrible crocheted! Can't wait to see what you'll be making, a cowl maybe?

I don't know what size needle the yarn recommends but when I work with thick and thin yarns I like to go up one, 2 and sometimes 3 needle sizes so I get a nice drapiness to a scarf, shawl or cowl. Your yarn colors are very pretty!

ReplyDeleteThe first time I worked with this type of yarn was knitting a baby blanket in the Entrelac pattern, it turned out beautiful and I enjoyed the experience of working with it.
ReplyDeleteI haven't used this type of yarn, it looks more like the threads we use in Pooja to tie on hands. But it is looking nice so far. I don't have patience to work with yarns whose plys are not twisted properly.
