Materials Required:

Sport weight//category 2 yarn approximately 800 meters

G/4 mm crochet hook

Yarn needle

Measuring tape

Size:

Approximately 14 inches wide and 70 inches long after blocking

Stitches/Abbreviations Used:

** - Repeat instructions between asterisks as many times as directed

st/sts - stitch/stiches

sl st - slip stitch

sc - single crochet

dc - double crochet 

tr - treble

Note:

The pattern is written in standard American terms

For a custom width make chains in multiples of 4 + 2

Instruction
Row 1: Ch 74, sc in 2^nd ch from hook and in rest of the chs across. Turn. (73 sc)
Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as 1^st st), dc in next st, **ch 1, skip next st, dc in next st** Repeat from ** to ** across, dc in last st. Turn.
Row 3: Ch 3 (counts as 1^st st), dc in each st and in each ch-1 space across, (73 sts)   
Row 4: Repeat row 2. Turn.
Row 5: Ch 3, **skip next ch-1 space, dc in next ch-1 space, ch 3, 3 dc in the post of the dc** Repeat from ** to ** across, dc in last st. Turn,
Row 6: Ch 7 (counts as tr + ch 3), **dc in space after the 3 dc, ch 3** Repeat from ** to ** across, tr in last st. Turn.
Row 7: Ch 1, sc in tr, **3 sc in next ch-3 space, sc in next st** Repeat from ** to ** across finishing with 3 sc in last space and sc in the 4^th ch. Turn. (73 sts)
 
Repeat rows 2 to 7 until you reach the desired length.
 

Edging
Shell – [dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1, dc] in same st/space
Ch 1, sc in corner st, **ch 1, shell in row 3 (dc row), ch 1, sc in row 7 (sc row), ch 1, shell in row 5, ch 1, sc in row 4** Repeat from ** to ** across until the end of the row finishing with sc in the corner st at the other end, repeat [ch 1, skip 2 sts, shell in next st, ch 1, skip 2 sts, sc in next st] until the end of the row, repeat the pattern on the other 2 sides, join with a sl st to the 1^st sc at the beginning of the round and fasten off. 

Finishing

Weave in all the loose ends. Block the scarf for best result.
