Materials Needed:

• Medium worsted weight/category 4 yarn
• G/4 mm crochet hook
• Button
• stitch marker
• Yarn needle

Size:

About 9.5 cm wide and 17.5 cm high

Stitches/Abbreviations Used:

** - Repeat instructions between asterisks as many times as directed

[ ] - Repeat instructions within parenthesis as a set as many times as directed

ch/chs - chain/chains 

st/sts - stitch/stitches

sl st - slip stitch

sc - single crochet

dc - double crochet

fpdc - front post double crochet

Instruction:

Round 1: Ch 18, sc in 2nd ch from hook (place a stitch marker) and in rest of the chs except the last, 3 sc in last ch, sc in 15 ch on the other side, 2 sc in next ch. Join with a sl st to the 1st sc. (36 sc)

Round 2: Ch 1, sc in the next st (not the st where you joined), ch 2, skip 2 sts, **sc in the next st, ch 2, skip 2 sts** Repeat from ** to ** around. Join with a sl st to the 1st sc. 

Round 3: Ch 1, **fpdc in sc, 2 dc in the next ch-2 space** Repeat from ** to ** around. Join with a sl st to the 1st fpdc.

Round 4: Ch 1, **sc in fpdc, ch 2** Repeat from ** to ** around. Join with a sl st to the 1st sc. 

Repeat rounds 3 and 4 eight more times. Cut off yarn and weave in the loose ends.

Sew a button to the front. Join yarn to the back right behind the button and and make a few chains long enough to go around the button. Once you have made enough chs sl st in the same st and cut off yarn. Weave in the loose ends.
