Crochet storage basket using the basket weave stitch

I can never have enough storage baskets. This is an oval shaped basket large enough to store vegetables, your yarn and WIPs, toys or towels. It's 12 inches long and 7 inches wide and 7 inches high. I used 2 strands of DK weight/category 3 yarn held together. You may use a single strand of a heavier yarn or a T-shirt yarn.

Advanced as it uses stitches worked around posts such as fpdc and bpdc

Abbreviations/stitches used:

[ ] - work instructions within parenthesis as a set as many times as directed

st/sts - stitch/stitches

ch - chain

sl st - slip stitch

sc - single crochet (UK - double crochet)

dc - double crochet (UK - treble)

fpdc - front post double crochet

bpdc - back post double crochet

Instruction
Base

Round 1: Ch 22, sc in 2^nd ch from hook and in rest of the chs except the last, 3 sc in last ch, sc in next 19 ch on the other side, 2 sc in next ch. Join with a sl st to the 1^st sc. (44 sts)
Round 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in 1^st st, sc in next 19 sts, 2 sc in next 3 sts, sc in next 19 sts, 2 sc in next 2 sts. Join with a sl st to 1^st st. (50 sts)
Round 3: Ch 1, sc in 1^st st, 2 sc in next st, sc in 19 sts, [sc in next st, 2 sc in next st] 3 times, sc in 19 sts, [sc in next st, 2 sc in next st] 2 times. Join. (56 sts)

Round 14: Ch 1 (does not count as a st), repeat [fpdc in 4 sts, bpdc in 4 sts] around. Join with a sl st to the 1^st st.

Round 15: Repeat round 2.

Round 16: Ch 1 (does not count as a st), repeat [bpdc in 4 sts, fpdc in 4 sts] around. Join with a sl st to the 1^st st.

Round 17: Repeat round 4.

Edging

Round 18 to 20: Ch 1, work sc in each st around. Join.

Round 21: Sl st in each st around. Fasten off and weave in the loose ends.

Handles (make 2)

Ch 18.

Row 1:  sc in 2nd ch from hook and rest of the chs across. Turn.

Row 2:  sc in each st across. Fasten off and weave in the ends.

Sew the handles to the basket.
