This is Elena. Elena is a very delicate and pretty shawl which is easy and suitable for a beginner.

Materials Required:

Medium worsted weight/category 4 yarn - 400 to 420 meters

H/5 mm crochet hook

Yarn needle

Size:

Approximately 12 inches wide and 65 inches long after blocking. Length can be adjusted.

Stitches/Abbreviations Used:

** - Repeat instructions within asterisks as many times as directed

[ ] - Repeat instructions within parenthesis as a set as many times as directed

ch - chain

st/sts - stitch/stitches

sl st - slip stitch

sc - single crochet 

dc - double crochet

4dc cluster - 4 dc worked together in the same ch

Instruction;

Row 1: Ch 53, dc in 5^th ch from hook, ch 1, skip 3 ch, 3 dc in next ch, **ch 1, skip 3 ch, [dc, ch 3, dc] in next ch, ch 1, skip 3 ch, 3 dc in next ch** Repeat from ** to ** 4 more times, ch 1, skip 3 ch, [dc, ch 1, dc] in last ch. Turn.

Row 2: Ch 3, 3 dc in same st, ch 1, dc in the 2^nd of next 3 dc, **ch 1, [3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc] in next ch-3 space, ch 1, dc in the 2^nd of next 3 dc** Repeat from ** to ** 4 more times, 4 dc in the last st. Turn.

Row 3: Ch 3, dc in same st, ch 1, skip next ch-1 space, [dc, ch 3, dc] in next dc, **ch 1, 3 dc in next ch-3 space, ch 1, skip next ch-1 space, [dc, ch 3, dc] in next dc** Repeat from ** to ** 4 more times, 2 dc in last st. Turn.

Row 4: Ch 4, [3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc] in next ch-3 space, ch 1, dc in the 2^nd of next 3 dc, ch 1** Repeat from ** to ** 4 more times, dc in last st. Turn.

Row 5: Ch 4, dc in same st, **ch 1, 3 dc in next ch-2 space, ch 1, skip next ch-1 space, [dc, ch 3, dc] in next dc** Repeat from ** to ** 4 more times, [dc, ch 1, dc] in last st. Turn.

Repeat rows 2 to 5 until you reach the desired length.

Bobble fringe

**Ch 5, 4dc cluster in the 3rd ch from hook, ch 2, sl st in the same ch, ch 3, sc in the next ch-3 space, ch 5, 4dc cluster in the 3rd ch from hook, ch 2, sl st in the same ch, ch 3, sc in the 2nd dc of next 3 dc** Repeat from ** to ** across. 

Repeat on the other side working sc in every ch-3 space. Cut off yarn and weave in all the loose ends.
