Materials Needed:
Medium worsted weight yarn less than 100 yards
Crochet hook 5.5 mm and 5 mm
Yarn needle
Measuring tape
(You can use any yarn and a suitable hook)
Gauge
13 hdc = 4 inches approximately
Abbreviations/stitches used
ch - chain
st/sts - stitch/stitches
sc - single crochet
hdc - half double crochet
Instruction
Row 1: Ch 17, hdc in the 3rd ch from hook, hdc in rest of the ch across. Turn. (15 hdc)
Row 2: Ch 1, hdc in the lower loops of each st across. Turn (15 sts)
Row 3: Ch 1, hdc in each st across. Turn. (15 sts)
Repeat rows 2 and 3 until the length is about 48 cm. Fold the band into half with the wrong side out and join the edges together by working single crochet into the lower loops of one end to the sts on the other end.
Using 5 mm crochet hook work sc along both the edges working 2 sc between each vertical braided pattern. Cut off yarn and weave in the ends.
To decrease the width just work fewer chains and to increase or decrease the circumference work more or fewer rows.
A great easy and very practical project, thank you for the pattern. xx
