Crochet ornament - free pattern

I hope you haven't forgotten me and my little space here. In case you have, I have come with a free pattern for you to enjoy and remember me for some more time.

I created this pattern long ago but due to my neck and shoulder pain I had to stay away from crochet and computers for a few days and eventually lost interest in it.

Today I somehow regained my mojo and completed it. So here is the free pattern for you.

You may use any yarn and a suitable hook. The size of the ornanent will depend on the size of yarn and the hook you use. I used light worsted weight yarns in 4 colours - green, hot pink, aqua and yellow and size E/3.50 mm hook.

I have written the pattern using American terminology.

Abbreviations that I have used are:
sc - single crochet (UK - double crochet)
dc- double crochet (UK - treble)
sl st - slip stitch (UK - single crochet)
st - stitch

Cluster:  3 double crochet (UK - treble) stitches worked together into the same stitch or space

Begin Pattern

Round 1:  Using color A make a magic ring and 16 sc into the ring (or) chain 4 and join with a sl st to form a ring and 16 sc into the ring. Join with a sl st to the 1st sc and break off yarn.

Round 2: Join color B and sc in same stitch, ** ch 1, sc in next st** Repeat from ** to ** around. Join. Break off yarn.

Round 3:  Join color C into next 1 chain space, chain 5 (considered dc + ch 2), **dc in next 1 chain space, ch 2** Repeat from ** to ** around. Join with a sl st to the 3rd chain at the beginning of round. Break off yarn.

Round 4:  Join color D into the next 2 chain space, chain 3, work 2 dc together into the same stitch (considered cluster), **chain 4, cluster in next space** Repeat from ** to ** around. Join. Break off yarn.

Round 5:  Join color B into the next 4 chain space, sc in same space, **9 dc in next space, sc in next space** Repeat from ** to ** around. Join with a sl st to the first sc. Break off yarn.

Round 6: Join color C into the sc between 2 petals, (sc, ch 3, sc) in same stitch, **chain 9, (sc, ch 3, sc) in next sc**  Repeat from ** to ** around. Join to the first sc and break off yarn.

Round 7: Join color A in the 1st sc, ch 1 and sc in same st, 2 dc in next 3 chain space, chain 3, sc in the 2nd dc (picot), 2 dc in same space, sc in next sc,

**chain 1, sc in the 2nd dc of round 5, chain 1, skip next dc, sc in the 4th dc, chain 1, skip next dc, sc in the 6th dc, chain 1, skip next dc and sc in the 8th dc, chain 1, sc in next sc, (2 dc, picot, 2 dc) in next 3 chain space, sc in next sc ** Repeat from ** to ** around. Fasten off and weave in all the loose ends.

Join yarn and make a few chains and join them to form a loop. Attach beads or other embellishments. Now you have a beautiful ornament for you Christmas tree or simply hang it on the wall.

Or you may even use it as a coaster.

Hope you enjoy the pattern. Please let me know if you come across any errors.

Have a great day!
